I will remember Wilf with a twinkle in his eye and a cheeky comment! I will always remember dancing with him in Prestwich, everyone having a lovely time, it was a great evening. He was a real servant to the community and should be proud of the impact he made. Sending lots of love to his wonderful family xx

It was an honour to know the lovely Wilf - way back in the days when I first met him at The Elms cafe in Whitefield . Many happy memories of him then at D-CaFF supporting as a Volunteer where he was awarded amongst others the Queens Award for Voluntary Service. … he supported us so well.

Not how did he die, but how did he live?
Not what did he gain, but what did he give?
These are the units to measure the worth
Of a man as a man, regardless of birth.
Not, what was his church, nor what was his creed?
But had he befriended those really in need?
Was he ever ready, with word of good cheer,
To bring back a smile, to banish a tear?
Not what did the sketch in the newspaper say,
But how many were sorry when he passed away.
